Initial tests may be arranged by the general practitioner (GP) and may include:
- physical examination
- mammogram
- ultrasound.
Timeframes for referral
- Initial tests should be performed within two weeks of seeing the GP.
- The specialist consultation should take place within two weeks of diagnosis or suspicion of cancer.
