Tests for skin cancer
Initial tests may be organised by the general practitioner (GP) and may include:
- a complete skin check
- a biopsy
- imaging (in some circumstances).
Timeframes for referral
- If required, a biopsy should be performed within four weeks.
- If referral to a specialist is required, referral should be as soon as practical, with respect to any clinical concern.
