Initial tests may be arranged by the general practitioner (GP) and may include:
- a general and pelvic examination
- transvaginal pelvic ultrasound.
Timeframes for referral
- Initial tests should be performed within four weeks of general practitioner (GP) presentation.
- If further investigations are required, the specialist consultation should take place within four weeks of the initial GP appointment.
- Initial treatment should commence within four weeks of diagnosis.
