Westmead Hospital is a major hospital with over 950 beds. It provides a wide range of surgical and medical services including chemotherapy, radiation therapy and cancer genetics services at the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Care Centre. It is supported by a 24 hour emergency department, intensive care and cancer clinical trials unit. Westmead Hospital is the major teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and a part of the Western Sydney Local Health District.
