Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187 bed medical and surgical hospital situated at Gateshead, south of the Newcastle CBD. It has a dedicated cancer centre providing chemotherapy and radiotherapy at the Hunter Cancer Centre. The Hunter Cancer Centre also provides cancer clinical trials, support services and education. Lake Macquarie Private Hospital and the Hunter Cancer Centre is a private facility.
